An unusual lint brush

I am not quite at the Inspector Gadget level of gadget users, but I do love them. I concede many are not worth the time or money. Nevertheless, some gadgets outperform the hype, and that’s what this column is all about.

We have two dogs and a cat. That means a lot of fur everywhere. I can’t tell you how many lint rollers we’ve tried over the years. Usually, the score is fur kids, 1, lint roller, 0.

So in a moment of desperation, I ordered this lint brush from WAWAK. WAWAK (wah-wack) is an online sewing supply company. I love WAWAK! It’s a great source for zippers, thread, interfacing and sewing tools.

This lint brush is a wood-handled brush with brass bristles. You wouldn’t think this would work on clothes and upholstery, but it’s amazing. It keeps our velvet comforter virtually fur-free.

I declare this gadget totally worth it!

Mason Jar Sealer

I am not quite at the Inspector Gadget level of gadget users, but I do love them. I concede many are not worth the time or money. But some gadgets outperform the hype, and that’s what this column is all about. 

Last spring, I attended a dehydration workshop hosted by a Master Canner. (Yes, that’s a thing. Cool, right?)

I learned many handy things, and of course, there were gadgets. One of them was a battery-operated jar sealer. This is not an option for traditional canning, but it’s exceptional for dry goods: pet food and treats, dry mixes, anything that might get stale. Vacuum seal it! It works very well, and it’s super easy to use. Doesn’t take up much space. Works with regular and wide-mouthed canning jars. We use ours regularly.
