Be a Slo-Pro: Slow productivity tips

Walking away from things undone (and unread).

This has been among the hardest tips for me to learn and practice: it’s okay to walk away from a project—or a book—that you haven’t finished. Or even one you haven’t started. We get involved with things and ideas, and then our lives shift. What was once important is less so. Sometimes we are swayed by others. Recently, I let go of a stack of books that I “should” read. It was hard, and then it wasn’t. My shelves and my reading time both have more breathing room, and I will donate all those books to a book sale that raises money for local organizations.
