Have a gift list to work through? Consider gifts of time or gifts of service for the important people on your list. Make your own personalized gift certificates using Canva (they offer a free version), or handwrite your fabulous offer on a card.

Be specific, suggest a time frame and offer to follow up in the first week of January. Some ideas:

• Put those lingering house projects on the schedule in the new year.

• Offer to do something like filling up the car with gas or going to the car wash (that’s my love language)

• Set up a date night

• Offer to play games with your game-loving family member or friend

• Offer to clean the house or even part of the house
