There’s a new dog in my world. Her name is Hopi and she’s a black English lab. She’s about one-year-old and a rescue dog. She is a sweetheart of a dog and Brin is beside herself with joy to have a dog companion.
This isn’t the greatest pic but she really is that shiny. And sweet.
And I mean the really big kind with people in baskets hanging below (who decided that was safe??). Lots of them. On Friday I saw the Energizer Bunny, the Wells Fargo Stagecoach, Smokey the Bear and lots of multi-colored numbers. Today I saw a ReMax balloon while I was outside watering my plants and I thought that maybe I was caught in the crosshairs of a commercial shoot — and reconsidering the choice of flannel green PJs for garden work…
Anyway, they are magical. From the ground, they are magical. And another Reno surprise…
Literally (it rained in Reno–finally) and artistically. I completed my first quilt in over a year. It’s a 14″ x 21″ strip quilt with a little embellishment (it’s a little quilt, after all).
It’s called “Sun on my face” and I posted a couple of photos to flickr (proof!). My friend Lucy asked me to make a quilt for a fundraiser for the Nevada Museum of Art. Hopefully someone will bid on it!
