I have had some unusual food and beverages in my life. An almost-lifetime of vegetarian eating has brought all kinds of healthy, hippie-granola food my way. So, it surprises me when something surprises me: like celery soda. Had a taste of said soda today at Peg’s Glorified Ham and Eggs. ( I know, I know–an odd choice for a vegetarian. But they have excellent toast. I live in a land of super buffets–good toast is actually hard to find here. But I digress.)

Celery soda–or Cel-Ray–is a Dr. Brown’s concoction. And you have to wonder, who was the unique individual who thought celery soda would be a winner? (Through the magic of the internet and the Soda Pop Stop, you can try it yourself.)

[Note to Brad: I think Cel-Ray soda and carrot juice might be the winning combo. Maybe with a splash of apple juice thrown in.]

I had the pleasure of meeting with the Alumni Association staff at my U…an enthusiastic, fun-loving bunch. The association has the tagline: “Once Nevada. Always Nevada.” It’s the perfect tagline. Got me thinking about what my own personal tagline might be. I am pretty sure it’s “Holding hands. Spreading love.”

:-)

So it’s getting to be that time of year: the time of resolutions. The time to reassess and re-evaluate–to plan for a more beautiful future. I don’t have a fully-formed plan yet but I want to do good.

If you haven’t learned to put up a tree feline style, you need to read Tree Decorating 101 and learn how it’s done from Iris and Fern. Anyone who has ever known a cat can relate.
